Thrifty Thursday 2.21.13

Hi Everyone!!

I actually have nothing exciting to say today :) Everything is going great, projects aren't getting done the way I would like ... See Monday's post :) but we make it through the days, and weeks, happy! 

Look at the gorgeous flowers my hubby surprised me with last night :)

Tonight I am meeting a friend for dinner and a movie! I am super excited! Anyone else have exciting plans for the weekend??

Not Everything Always Goes As Planned

Hey Everyone!

Wow, I am so behind! I have all these awesome ideas that I want to do, and blog about them, but I never get to them and therefore, I don't get to blog.

I want to give you a little insight, into my world. I am the step mother of a wonderful 6 (& 1/2) year old Princess. This means she is not with us every day. We have her every Thursday, which just flies by after homework and dinner at my in-laws, and every OTHER weekend, some times every OTHER OTHER weekend :) as in the case of this past weekend because of the holiday.

I promised you all pictures of Riley's Valentine's day, but never even got to take any. She loved her Unicorn, by the way, she has named her Sparkles!! She sits on the throne of Riley's bed, with her other "stuffed" friends - MooMoo, Pretty, Hearts, Fancy, Pillow Pet, Love Bug & Riley Jr., and everyone else.

I have numerous craft ideas planned, but when you only a get max of 4 days PER MONTH to actually do them, they become few and far between! I also don't want to do them without her!

So, please bear with me, as I post some not so fun things in lieu of all the projects Pinterest so lovingly puts forth to me :) We will get to them some day. 
Besides I have BIG, no HUGE, plans for this blog once we buy a house -- which we are making plans for now and we hope to be on the path to home ownership in just a few months!

OMG It's Valentine's Day!! How exciting!!

I love to find the perfect gift for my hubby ... problem is I bought it weeks early and was so excited about it that I gave it to him, when it arrived!

We also got Riley a big pink Unicorn & cute dresses. She wanted a bear that was bigger than her! Can't wait till she sees her gifts tonight!! Photo to follow :)

What did you get your special valentine? DId you make it, or buy it? I hope to get craftier and make things all the time! Can't wait to see what you all link up!

Fun, Random Facts about Me!

Have you ever read someone’s blog but still feel like you really don’t know them, even after reading the "about me" section? Have you ever wondered when their birthday was, how old they are, or what shows they like to watch? Well I wanted to do something a little silly and post 26 random facts about myself. When I say random, they are very random… but that’s the fun part! 

26 Random Facts About Jessica! 

1. I am the baby of my family :)

2. I am obsessed with books. Romance novels :) I read at least 50 in 2012 (and just downloaded at least 25 today from Amazon, from the free section!)

3. I speak New York-ie (according to my 6 year old (step) daughter).

4. I have a fear of the dark....

5. I love to take pictures

6. My birthday is August 12th (1985)

7. I am not a morning person

8. I have 2 cats, Jax & Ninja. They make appearances throughout my posts :) (or walk on my keyboard as I type this..)

9. I met my husband on Facebook through a photo rating app :)

10. I have 6 tattoos

11. I believe in God

12. I danced since I was 7 (tap, ballet, hip hop and some ballroom, etc.) and still miss it!

13. I WILL visit England & Holland one day

14. I am a Shaklee Distributor

15. I was born and raised on Long Island and moved to FL 4 years ago.

16. My favorite color changes all the time ... right now (I think) it's Purple :)

17. I would love to lose about 25lbs

18. I want to be a stay/work at home mom and maybe even homeschool

20. I have OCD... about the weirdest things.

21. I lost a pregnancy 3 years ago (ectopic).

22. My husband thinks I'm a good kisser :) (this was his addition, when I needed help)

23. I have a really good memory for numbers and dates, but can't remember if I locked the door when I leave in the morning.

24. I can't see without my glasses but never had them until my first year in college.

25. I would love to have a degree in Music and be a music teacher or just in the music field.

26. I taught Sunday School to 2 years olds last year (and miss them).

Guest Post at Grace & Bliss

Hey everyone! Please join me as I Guest Post over at my friend Billie's blog - Grace & Bliss!

 

A couple weeks ago, I saw a blog post from my friend Julia on her new mop. It looked so awesome, I had to buy it!!

It's called Rubbermaid Reveal and it picks up spills and messes with no work! This mop comes with a washable microfiber pad - that can be washed and re-used up to 100 times!!!

I knew this would be the solution to our cats constantly spilling out their water bowl, and it was just amazing! It even soaked up the water from the grout!!

I purchased mine on Amazon and it came with 2 extra microfiber pads and an extra water bottle!
You can even use your own cleaning solution with water, in the refillable bottle! I only use Shaklee Basic H2 concentrated cleaner & Basic G (Germicide) (I filled bottle to the water line and added 2 tsp of each cleaner.)

How do you clean your floors? Anyone thinking of converting now?? :)

Thrifty Thursday

Well, my most recent "thrifty" idea didn't work out so well :).

While in NY, I bought a wooden "keys" sign with metal hooks, and thought it would be an awesome project to do with Riley and share! We had such a busy weekend that we never got to it! I will have it done for you all to see though!

However, during our busy weekend, Riley and I spent near 2 hours in Barnes and Noble searching for books for each of us! It was lots of fun!!
